Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas Book Review

I first heard about this book in the BookTube community, of which I only started watching last December 2014. I've heard so many good things about it, my favorite BookTubers raved about it, and the third book was released earlier in 2014, and even though I'm a little late on the bandwagon, I decided to jump in anyway.

Throne of Glass is my first fanatasy read, and so I had a little difficulty adjusting to the story. Reading about magic and fae and immortals were a little to much for me at the start, but eventually, I started enjoying it. In the end, I was happy and very satisfied about it. It's a wonderful read indeed.

The book is about an eighteen year-old assassin named Celaena Sardothien who was imprisoned in the salt mines in Endovier and was offered her freedom in exchange of participating and winning a competition held by the King of Adarlan. The winner becomes the King's Champion - aka Assassin - and shall be granted their freedom after serving the King for the agreed number of years. Twenty three notorious criminals were chosen by different sponors of the King, including the Crown Prince of Adarlan, Dorian Havillard. Along with the Captain of the Guard, Chaol Westfall, Dorian helps Celaena, his chosen Champion, to win the competition. They experienced many obstacles along the way, which made the book more exciting.

What I loved most about this book is Celaena's strong character. She is such a powerful, brave, and badass character that it makes you want to turn the page and continue reading until the end. Her moves, the way she fights her opponents, were smoothly and perfectly described that it made me feel like I'm watching an action-packed movie like Tomb Raider. It was so much fun, and the love triangle that formed in the novel was undeniably cute, and until now I still don't have a team, sadly. But hopefully after reading the next 2 books, I'll finally have a definite answer as to who I want Celaena to end up with!

Also, the book was written in many different perspectives, which is always a win for me because I love to know about the other characters' personalities as well, and not based only on what one person (in first person POV) thinks of the other characters. And of course, the mysteries and secrets of the story made me want to finish it in one-seating because I felt like I needed to figure out what was happening, what exactly was happening, who was at fault, and all that jazz.

Needless to say, I super duper loved it. I gave it 5 stars, and I recommend it to all readers. It's a fantastic read, and I can't wait to get my hands on the next 2 books! And I heard the 4th book will be released on October 2015 (not sure!!!) and so I'll definitely watch out for that, I can't wait, it'll be awesome for sure.

Thank you guys for reading this review, and I hope you guys will love it as much as I did!
